Folio

Reading digest with beautiful typeset sent to e-readers

Reading on screens is broken. Folio fixes that by turning anything you save — URLs, uploaded files, forwarded newsletters — into clean, typeset PDFs built for your e-reader.

Save an article or webpage URL, upload a .txt, .md, .docx, or .html file, or forward a newsletter to your unique Folio email address. Everything lands in your inbox. From there, create an "issue" — a beautifully crafted PDF using hand-picked fonts, optimized for e-ink displays.

Folio connects directly to reMarkable and Kindle. Issues get pushed to your device automatically — no cables, no manual transfers.

The whole thing runs as microservices across Cloudflare and Google Cloud. Each piece does one thing and stays out of the others' way.

The roadmap includes a curated weekly digest — a hand-picked selection of articles formatted into a single PDF newspaper delivered straight to your device. For now, it's self-serve: you pick what you want to read, Folio makes it beautiful and puts it on your e-reader.
